Thornlie Christian College is a ministry of Thornlie Church of Christ that grew out of a vision held by its members to establish a Christian school based on Christian principles. The goal of the College was and is to offer a quality education where students learn the importance of academic performance, a balanced spiritual life and self-discipline. It is from this that we derive our motto, “Learning for Life”.
In all its endeavours the Learning Community of Thornlie Christian College seeks first the Kingdom of God while providing an environment where:
The College is a close-knit community and our partnership with parents helps to build and maintain a joint commitment to offering students the best possible educational opportunities. We hope you will see the College as a place where you are welcome to share and participate in the life of the community

What are the hallmarks that make the John Calvin Schools unique?
Reformed education is covenantal in character. It is for covenant children who have been claimed by God and have received the sure promises at their baptism. This binding relationship is the context within which the children are to be nurtured in godliness, and equipped to live out of their calling as prophets, priests and kings.
Reformed education is confessional in character. The confessional task of the school, like that of the home, is a constant I do to all that God reveals about Himself in His Word and works as the creator, redeemer and sanctifier of life.
Reformed education recognises the antithesis. The school assists the home in teaching the children to recognise the battle lines of the great struggle in which Christ will be victorious, a battle to which He calls them to live in holiness to do the will of their Father.
Reformed education functions in a unity of purpose at home, school and church. When home, school and church are united with respect to the education of our children, the work of each has life giving benefits for all covenant children.
We aim to create a nurturing Christian community where all members value learning, respect for the individual, relationships and creativity to equip them for life.
As a Kindergarten to Year 12 school, John Wollaston provides a seamless transition through all stages of schooling for our students. In our close, safe and stimulating environment, children have the opportunity to explore their own talents, abilities and creativity while working, learning and growing within the greater school community.
We prepare our students for a meaningful and rewarding role in the community through the pursuit of personal excellence and the provision of a full and broad education based on strong intellectual and Christian principles.
With a diversity of enriching programmes and the positive influences of our staff and Chaplain, John Wollaston students are valuable, contributing members of their communities well beyond the end of their life at schoo

The beautiful bush surrounds of the school provide a natural environment to learn about care and respect of God’s creation and each other. The school and Parish have forged strong links through Sacramental Programs, weekly liturgy, development of a school Sacred Space and the famous Parish/School Christmas BBQ. Good Shepherd offers an excellent holistic education program including specialist subjects of Science, Physical Education, Italian and Music. Extra programs catering for all students include the Bidjara project, camp, retreat days, Tournament of Minds, extending mathematical understanding, mathematic support, Festival of Performing Arts, swimming lessons, Eagle Cup carnival, cross country, choir and school band. The school provides 0-3 year old Little Lambs Playgroup, 3 year old Education Program and a full Kindergarten to Year 6 Program. Good Shepherd’s strong community feel was established very early and continues today with support from our Parent Class Representatives and Good Shepherd Parent Group. We work together to continue to “LEARN THROUGH FAITH, LOVE AND LAUGHTER’.
