Lobethal Lutheran School is committed to provide a Christian education to the children in our care catering for the children’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual needs. It is with this in mind that we offer the class and staffing structures that we do, have policies and procedures in place to ensure the children’s safety and the smooth running of the school, with staff who are committed to the school’s mission and vision.
All this is done in the overall context of a caring, encouraging and supportive school community where children, staff, parents and friends work together to strive for improvement and excellence, fostering a team effort with communication being a key element.
Schooling takes up a large proportion of an individual’s life; many hours, days and years are spent in formal education laying foundations and building upon these foundations with the ultimate aim of developing well balanced, positive life-long learners.
At St. Michael’s we are acutely aware of this responsibility and therefore endeavour to offer quality schooling within a friendly, caring and supportive environment underpinned by our Christian faith.
One of the many qualities of this community is the acceptance of its members to reflect upon, analyse and evaluate the programmes that are offered, from academic through to social/emotional and spiritual.
An effective school cannot allow itself to become complacent. This desire to be as strong a school as possible has seen us over the last few years develop a curriculum that has literacy, numeracy and Christian studies as ‘foundational pillars’ with the International Baccalaureate programme providing the curriculum framework.
